Why the Album Became TRUST

When the album was first released, it carried the title In God We Trust.

At the time, that choice felt natural because the song itself had become one of the defining centerpieces of the entire project. Following a long-standing tradition in music, the strongest or most recognizable track often becomes the name of the full album as well.

But as time passed, something became increasingly clear.

The collection of songs represented something broader than any one individual track.

While In God We Trust remained central to the project emotionally and spiritually, the album itself explored a wider range of themes — perseverance, humility, gratitude, worship, hope, reflection, and faith through both struggle and peace. Each song carried its own personality and atmosphere while still belonging to the same larger journey.

Gradually, the simpler title TRUST began to feel more accurate.

The more I reflected on the music as a whole, the more the idea of trust seemed to connect nearly every part of the project in some way. Some songs approached it directly through faith and worship. Others explored it more quietly through perseverance, humility, uncertainty, gratitude, or simply continuing forward without fully knowing where the road would lead next.

In many ways, trust became the invisible thread connecting the entire album together.

Not certainty.
Not perfection.
Not control.

Trust.

That realization slowly reshaped how I viewed the collection as a whole. The title had become something larger than a single track — a reflection of the emotional and spiritual foundation beneath the entire project.

It captured not only the spirit of In God We Trust, but also the deeper thread running through the entire album.

Trust in God. Trust through uncertainty. Trust through difficulty. Trust while creating something new without fully understanding where it may eventually lead.

The shorter title also allowed the project to stand more clearly as a complete body of work rather than being perceived only through the lens of a single track.

Changing the album title was not about replacing or distancing from In God We Trust. In many ways, that song remains the emotional doorway into the larger collection. Instead, the new title became a refinement — a clearer reflection of the album’s full identity after the music had time to live and breathe publicly.

Looking back now, the evolution from In God We Trust to TRUST mirrors the way the entire project developed from the beginning.

Nothing about this journey was heavily planned in advance.

The songs evolved gradually.
The album emerged unexpectedly.
And even the title itself eventually revealed what it truly wanted to become.
