You Are The Highest started as a simple melody and expression of devotion that stayed with me day after day. I kept singing it, revisiting it, changing lines, adjusting the flow, and trying to shape it into something that truly captured what I was hearing and feeling. What sounded simple on the surface took months of refining before it finally became the version that exists today.

At that point, I still had no plans to create music publicly beyond finishing this one song.

I reached out for help along the way, learning how to bring the musical and vocal pieces together properly. Every session seemed to uncover another adjustment. Some days the song felt complete. Other days it felt like it needed to be rebuilt again from the inside out.
Over time, You Are The Highest became more than a song. It became a creative process.

And somewhere during that process, other songs began to appear.

One idea led to another. Then another.

Some songs arrived almost immediately. Others took repeated revisions before they finally felt complete. Certain melodies changed direction entirely from where they first began, while a few tracks went through multiple arrangements before settling into their final form.
What kept surprising me was how naturally the themes continued connecting together even though none of the songs were originally planned as part of a larger project. Again and again, the writing returned to ideas of faith, gratitude, perseverance, humility, hope, and trust during uncertain seasons of life.

At the time, I still wasn’t thinking about albums or public releases. I was simply trying to follow the creative process honestly and allow each song to become what it needed to become.
Still, there was never a thought of creating an album. I was simply following the songs as they came and trying to finish each one with care and sincerity. But eventually I looked up and realized there were twelve completed tracks.

That was the moment someone suggested, “You know… this is an album.”

Honestly, that possibility had never entered my mind.

Even now, You Are The Highest remains the song closest to my heart. When you spend that much time with something — singing it, refining it, living with it quietly over many months — it becomes personal in a way that is difficult to explain.

Later, an instrumental version was also created, allowing the melody itself to stand on its own without words.

Looking back now, it is clear that You Are The Highest was the beginning of everything that followed.
