My 2015: A year filled with surprises, big changes and fantastic adventures. Truly a remarkable year.
I kicked off 2015 by getting a book contract with a publisher for my first co-authored fiction work, “The Good, Bad, & Gold: The Pursuit” with S.K.R. This was a huge accomplishment because it took over ten years in writing this story and massaging it to its published edition. We made the decision to remove nearly 300 pages from the original manuscript since it was a very meaty volume; and we tightened the story. The final printed version is nearly 500 pages in itself. We received fantastic reviews on this story, which is currently listed as a trilogy, but it is possibly moving into a series. Of the many reviews received, The Tolucan Times calls it, “a unique world in the tradition of Tolkein,” which gives us an awesome feeling of energy and further inspiration.
The second book (Dark Horizons) is over 3/4 done and planned for publication in the coming new year (2016). But, before the release of the second book we arrived at the conclusion that the first book is missing critical storyline passages that are pertinent for the following two books and perhaps others in the future series. For this reason we will release a new Expanded Edition of the first book to help tie any loose ends for future books. (Anyone with a copy of the existing book will receive the new edition free, as our gift.)
Another significant highlight of 2015 was fulfilling a goal to someday see or meet the Dalai Lama. Through sheer luck and intention His Holiness chose to come to California to celebrate his 80th birthday at the Honda Stadium in July. We were there and basked in the presence of this extraordinary and beaming being.
Toward the end of summer, we took a trip to Mammoth and Yosemite for the sake of our beloved Akita, who travels with us everywhere, and could not tolerate the heat. This trip proved to be the most memorable trip we’ve taken since our Templar Cathedral pilgrimage of 6 out of 7 significant cities in France and Scotland in 2005. We drove up to see the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest east of Bishop en route to Mammoth. The turn off road leading to the forest had an interesting sign of Deep Springs Lake, which remarkably did not show up on Google maps but did on the trusty Apple maps. To our disappointment there was no access road open to the lake so we viewed it from the road. It’s supposedly a bottomless lake with underwater tunnels leading far toward Las Vegas! Maybe that’s why there was no access to it.
The Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest trees are thousands of years old with some older than Christ. Quite the amazing feeling to walk around a forest with trees so old and unique.
On this same trip while in Mammoth on a hike around Twin Lakes, we came across two wolves that appeared out of nowhere. I held back our 140 lb Akita, while my wife chased after the wolves to get them away (she has no fear since she has confronted many of the world’s most dangerous wild animals and reptiles). Moments later an older man appeared and claimed to be the owner of the wolves. He brought them out to the wilderness to let them run around. Funny, our dog never growled or displayed aggression toward these magnificent creatures (he is usually aggressive toward larger dogs—an Akita trait). In fact he hung out with them off leash and fit right at home as if it was a family reunion.
In the later part of 2015 I launched my live BlogTalkRadio show, Revenue Chat, which is the most fun endeavor I have taken on. This show has proven to be my passion and calling. I have the opportunity to interview the most interesting and successful business professionals who share their successes as well as the challenges they faced along the way. Each one of my guests shares valuable information to help others succeed and overcome barriers. The success of my show continues to build and the list of future guests is growing faster than anticipated. It is a personally fulfilling endeavor and I enjoy every guest and every moment of the show. My follower base grows in leaps and bounds with 100s of new followers weekly. My mention reach is in the millions. I have met so many wonderful people of all walks of life and it is a dream come true to have so many friends!
Also in late 2015, I released my new book on sales and marketing: Easy Sales Procedures (ESP). The book is doing well, and I thank you all for your lovely and positive reviews and feedback. (I have several more books in progress of getting primed for release in 2016 on a myriad of subjects, fiction and non-fiction. Rise Above Fear may be the next release.)
As the year comes to a close I want to thank everyone that’s in our lives and helped create these special moments. May the following year bring many exciting moments to everyone’s lives. And, may we all rise from the cesspool of our ignorance and seek enlightenment (a quote from the Imen in The Good, Bad and Gold series), and reach toward serving the greater good for all.
Remember: YOU can make life better for yourself and everyone, Choose Wisely!
Happy New Year to All!
