If you want to practice and hone your sales techniques, and improve your ability on a rapid basis, here’s a sure-fire method: I had an art store for a number of years and had a great experience grooming my sales techniques with literally 1000s of customers, face to face.
You can do this even if you have a good paying job and do not want to leave it. Can you put some hours in on the weekend? The weekends are some of the busiest days in the shopping malls, and from my past experience, retail stores are always looking for extra help; and the regular help is always looking for an excuse to take the weekend off.
It’s worth a shot. Get a job for a day or so a week and get used to working and meeting a large amount of people. That should hone your confront of people, and improve your sales ability in a short time.

Also the local church(es) rummage sales, (White Elephant Stall is my specialty), where everyone is out to have fun, and most people will fork over a buck or two for almost anything, since it’s ‘for the church”.

Great idea Chris. I’ll bet when you are done, that you can walk up to anyone, anywhere, and talk about anything (a forerunner to selling something). Makes me want to go to my local church and check it out.
